About Sandbox
The Sandbox is the open field the whole platform grew out of: a flat arena, rigid-body physics at sixty steps a second, and no rules. Every crate, barrel, plank and ragdoll is a properly simulated body, so what you build stands or falls the way it would on a real table.
Use it to try ideas from the other modes, stack something absurd and watch it come down, or just throw ragdolls around. Freeze time to arrange a scene, save it, and pick it up later in the same browser.
Questions
- Do I need to install anything?
- No. It runs in the browser on a laptop or a phone; nothing is downloaded beyond the page itself.
- Is the physics real or scripted?
- Real. Every object is a rigid body simulated with Rapier at a fixed 60 Hz step. Nothing is animated by hand.
- Where is my saved scene stored?
- In this browser's local storage, on this device only. Clearing site data removes it.
- Why do ragdolls fall apart?
- Their joints have a strength limit. Hit one hard enough, with an explosion or a long fall, and the joint gives way.
